Milton, ON – The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) donated $20,000 to Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) Thursday morning at Troy’s Diner in Milton.

The funds will be directed to support five elementary and two high schools in Milton and one elementary school in Acton to support initiatives such as mental health, coding, wellness rooms, art workshops, breakfast programs, literacy, classroom technology and inclusive classrooms. Since 2015, TJSF has donated $50,000 to public schools in support of similar initiatives.

Passing the cheque to HLF’s executive director Lesley Mansfield were both Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., president of TJSF, and his father Tiger Jeet Singh, during the celebration reception and breakfast by the former professional wrestlers.

Citing TJSF’s mission “sickness and poverty do not discriminate; neither should the spirit of giving,” Tiger Jr. said he feels blessed to be living in Milton and strives to give back to the community he so loves. “I cherish the opportunity when I get to visit the schools and network with the children”, he said. “They leave a lasting impression on my soul.”

He said when he had to give up wrestling at the age of 30, due to multiple concussions he knew he wanted to do something to help the community. Since doing so, and raising over $2 million for TJSF, he says he’s been reborn.
