“A total of $15,000 will be donated to three elementary and two high schools”, says Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., President of Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation. “Each school is a unique community of its own, with individual concerns that are not funded by the different levels of government. I sat down with each school principal and asked for their wish list. Some of the replies totally shocked me when it was addressed that mental health was an issue within a school, along with breakfast program and literacy to name some others. These five schools were selected because they were the first to organize toy drives within their schools and then bus in students to attend and deliver the toys at our Miracle on Main Street toy drive event. This is our way of saying thank you and allows me to share my pride in being a Canadian and respecting people of all faiths.”

A total of six Miracle on Main assemblies were organized by local area schools and the hope is to make it an annual tradition with the idea catching on to include more schools in the future. This year’s recipients of the donation will include Tiger Jeet Singh Elementary School, Irma Coulson Elementary School, Bruce Trail Elementary School, Craig Kielburger Secondary School and Milton District High School.

This year’s 7th annual Miracle on Main Street toy drive charity event will take place on Monday, Monday, December 14th from 6am to 9am on a closed off portion of Main Street at Troy’s Diner located at 295 Main Street in Milton. The event will be broadcast LIVE on City TV’s Breakfast Television and Asian Television Network.
