Milton, ON – Over $200,000 was raised for charity and $15,000 donated to five local public schools in support of mental health, literacy and breakfast programs; this was the overwhelming success of the 7th Annual Miracle on Main.
People would pass the barriers blocking Main St in front of Troy’s Diner and entered a dream world full of Christmas cheer. The Christmas spirit is what makes it a key date on the calendars of many Miltonians and neighboring municipalities. Councilor Mike Cluett has volunteered at the event since it began, and this year served as its emcee. “It’s the magic of the day. It’s the fact we’re all giving back to people who don’t have what we have,” Cluett said. Miracle on Main St. is organized by the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation as a fundraiser for Halton Women’s Place, Salvation Army, McMaster Children’s Hospital, and the Hospital for Sick Children.
This year’s fundraiser took place on Monday, December 14th in Milton on a closed off portion of Main Street and inside McMaster Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 16th. The entire experience from food, entertainment, amusement rides, horse carriage rides, a mini CN Rail train and so much more was entirely FREE for everyone to enjoy.
“A simple gesture can bring so much happiness and it’s these moments that fill us with joy, touch our hearts and we cherish the most! Thank you to everyone that helped by donating a toy or volunteering your time”, said Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., President of Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation. ”We could not have made this happen without you and for that we are truly blessed! Sickness and poverty do not discriminate; neither should the spirit of giving. Milton hasn’t’ just been my home for the past 40 years, it’s been my heart! With the support of Jennifer Valentyne of Breakfast Television and Asian Television Network, people around the world are able to get a glimpse of what makes our community special.”
Carols were sung by Milton Choristers while performances were provided by local artists Tanya Marie Harris, Jessica Lockwood, Jon Kirkwood, Salvation Army, Jojo & the Chintos, Elvira Hopper with Darryl Joseph Dennie aka Heart & Soul and Ghostbusters team. Emcee for the event was local Milton & Regional Councilor Mike Cluett alongside DJ Mark Stanley.

Hundreds of children attended including principals and teachers from neighboring schools Tiger Jeet Singh Public School, Irma Coulson Public School, Bruce Trail Public School, Martin Street Public School, Milton District High School, Craig Kielburger High School and several others.
The event at McMaster Children’s Hospital was an opportunity for the Tigers to bring a little Christmas cheer to children that have to stay in the hospital over the holidays. Accompanying the Tigers were #51 Mike Filer of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Maple Leaf Alumni Ric Natress and Peter Ing.

Hundreds of supporters from the community attended bright and early between 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. in Milton. Wrestling’s living legend Tiger Jeet Singh and his son wrestling superstar Tiger Ali Singh were in attendance along with dignitaries Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, Milton MP Lisa Raitt, Halton MPP Indira Naidoo-Harris, Halton Chairman Gary Carr, Halton Region Police Chief Stephen Tanner, Milton Fire Chief Brian Ellisworth, Milton Councilors Rick DiLorenzo, Colin Best, John Pollard, Zeeshan Hamid, Robert Duvall, Mike Cluett, Carm Bozzo from Halton Women’s Place, Steve & Leslie Wiseman from Salvation Army, Donna Danielli from Halton District School Board, and #67 Peter Dyakowski and #51 Mike Filer of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Canada’s most famous hockey dad Walter Gretzky rounded off the guest list.
