Milton, ON – Sports celebrities, train rides and another grand show of generosity. All were part of the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s 6th Annual Miracle on Main Street.

This year’s fundraiser which took place on Monday, December 15th in Milton on a closed off portion of Main Street in front of Troy’s Diner and Wednesday, December 17th inside McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton collected more than $200,000 in sponsorships, toys, non-perishable food and life essential products. Items were distributed to the Salvation Army, Halton Women’s Place and the young patients admitted in SickKids in Toronto and McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.

The entire experience from food, entertainment, amusement rides, a mini CN Rail train and so much more was entirely FREE for everyone to enjoy with a donation of a new unwrapped toy.

Thousands of supporters attended bright and early between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in Milton. Wrestling’s living legend Tiger Jeet Singh and his son wrestling superstar Tiger Ali Singh were in attendance along with dignitaries Mayor of Milton Gord Krantz, Minister of Transport Lisa Raitt, Halton MPP Indira Naidoo-Harris, Milton Fire Chief Brian Ellisworth, Halton Regional Police Chief Stephen Tanner along with his Deputy Chief Andrew Fletcher and constables. Sports celebrities #67 Peter Dyakowski of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Canada’s most famous hockey dad Walter Gretzky rounded off the guest list.

Carols were sung by Milton Choristers while performances were provided by local artists Jessica Lockwood, Rock This Way – Gavin McLeod, Halton Police band and Elvira Hopper with Darryl Joseph Dennie aka Heart & Soul. MC for the event was local Milton councilor Mike Cluett and the event DJ was Mark Stanley.

Extravagant displays were set up by Halton Regional Police Services, Milton Fire Department, C.A. Towing and Techno Metal Post.

Hundreds of children attended from neighboring schools including Tiger Jeet Singh Public School, Irma Coulson Public School, Hawthorwne Village Public School, Martin Street Public School, Milton District High School, Craig Kielburger High School, St. Peter’s Catholic School, PL Robertson Public School, Bruce Trail Public School and several others. 2

The event at McMaster Children’s Hospital was an opportunity for the Tigers to bring a little Christmas cheer to the children that have to stay in the hospital over the holidays. Accompanying Tiger Jeet Singh and Tiger Ali Singh were #35 Mike Daly of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Maple Leaf Alumni Ric Natress and Peter Ing.
