WRESTLING EXTRAVAGANZA FOR CHARITY
Free Family Friendly Event
TIGERFEST, a charity wrestling exhibition and free Top 40 concert, will take place in Chinguacousy Park on Saturday, September 24th, a date chosen to coincide with Brampton Day in order to capitalize on the crowds it traditionally attracts. Scotia Bank and Century 21 New Star Realty will be the presenting sponsors for this exciting family event.
TIGERFEST, previously held in Milton, has been proven to attract a diverse audience and it is hoped the event will appeal to, and serve, Brampton’s quickly growing South East Asian community of over 250,000 people and approximately 1 million in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
It’s no secret that the wholesome family entertainment that professional wrestling provides is experiencing an all time high in popularity around the world. So with this in mind, TIGERFEST has utilized the popularity of professional wrestling, the marketability of wrestling legend Tiger Jeet Singh and his son former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh to promote Canada’s only free wrestling extravaganza in support of a number of charities.
Leading off the festivities at 2:00 PM will be Tigers High School Challenge, which will feature top student athletes from six Peel Region High Schools. The four male and four female athletes will compete in a multiple array of ‘Fireman Challenge’ style events, culminating with each team pulling a bus across the finish line!
Brampton Brand Ambassadors RDB and Nindy Kaur will perform live on the main stage between 3:00 – 5:00 PM with recording artist Prita Chhabra. RDB will also enter the ring with Tiger to perform their new “Tiger Intro”.
5:00 PM is Bell Time. TIGERFEST will culminate in a two hour exhibition of live professional wrestling with living legend Tiger Jeet Singh making a special guest appearance and his son former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh wrestling in the main event. The blockbuster line up will also include former WWE Superstars Tatanka, Bushwhacker Luke, Robbie McAllister and Shawn Daivari with Tyson Dux, Mohammad Hassan, Quebec’s Heavyweight Champion Draggo and the 6’7″ 400 lbs. monster Darkko rounding out the card.
The audience will also be treated to surprise guest appearances by former WWE, TNA and UFC superstars who will join the Tigers at the conclusion of the wrestling event to sign autographs on specially designed TIGERFEST t-shirts, produced by Desi Wear.
The event is free to watch however a minimum donation of $10 is required for entry into the limited VIP Ringside seating area. The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation will donate proceeds to the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness, Japan Relief Campaign and Salvation Army. Non-perishable donations for the Food Bank will also be gratefully accepted on site.
“We are absolutely delighted to partner with Mayor Susan Fennell and the City to host this year’s TIGERFEST in Brampton,” explains Tiger Jr., President of the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation. “The primary objective of TIGERFEST is to promote our youth to stay away from drugs by leading an active & healthy lifestyle and promoting unity among our diverse cultures. We look forward to meeting the community, raising the profile of some very deserving young student athletes and moving the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation another step closer to achieving its financial objectives.”
