Milton, ON – Families and individuals across Halton Region and the City of Brampton stepped up for another year of spreading charity cheer during Miracle on Main Street which took place in Brampton on November 18 and in Milton on December 9, 2022.
The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) combined forces with Halton Regional Police and Peel Regional Police with the goal of assisting more families and children during the holiday season than ever before. As a result of this joint effort and with the support of Presenting Partner – City of Brampton and Presenting Sponsor – Wallace Chevrolet, the Miracle on Main Street toy drive initiative returned in-person after the pandemic hiatus to raise over $1,000,000 in combined donations and sponsorships and distributed to families in need across the Halton Region, City of Brampton and to several community charitable organizations including Salvation Army Chapters, Halton Women’s Place, CMHA, Big Brother’s Big Sister’s, Faith Based organizations, Elementary Schools, Boys Girls Club of Peel, children’s hospitals including Brampton Civic Hospital, just to name a few.
“Sickness and poverty don’t discriminate; neither should the spirit of giving,” is the motto TJSF Chairman Tiger Jeet Singh said the organization follows.
We would like to thank our sponsors, business partners, volunteers, schools, media, and the community for the incredible support in helping us reach this milestone!
“It’s all about respecting individuals celebrating Christmas religiously, as well as socially as a festive time of year. A simple gesture of kindness can leave an impression on a child to last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who supported, whether you volunteered, donated, or just re-posted to spread the good word, each of you contributed in a meaningful way bringing happiness to children,” said TJSF President Tiger Jeet Singh Jr.
“Miracle on Main Street was our best yet! The atmosphere was festive and electric at the same time. The partnership with the City of Brampton and the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation was a home run!”, said His Worship Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown.
“We support the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation and the Tigers heart for the community is so important. At Peel Police, our motto is ‘a safer community together’ and what that means is, it’s not just the police trying to make this community safer and healthier but we need to do it with the public and Miracle on Main is a perfect example of community members donating toys and it’s going to get to the right people that need it”, said Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah.
“Thank you, Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation, for what you do for the under privileged individuals that you help not only in Milton and Halton but all throughout the GTA, it’s much appreciated,” said His Worship Milton Mayor Gord Krantz.
“Thank you for this partnership! There are going to be thousands of children that have something at Christmas because of this event bringing the community together. This is the main event. One for all and all for one,” said Halton Police Chief Stephen Tanner.
“Community Safety and Well-being is a shared responsibility, and it is great to see so many people and organizations step up to do their part. The success of the Miracle on Main initiative demonstrates what is possible when our community comes together to help others. We are so immensely proud to partner with the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation in such a meaningful campaign each year,” said Halton Police Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie.
Halton Police Sergeant Ric Judson stated, “Without the support and generosity of our local businesses and community partners, we could not do what we do! It’s inspiring to see a community come together to do amazing things!”
Dignitaries and special guests that attended the events included His Worship Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, His Worship Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, Milton MP Adam Van Koreverden, Milton MPP Parm Gill, Brampton MPP Prabmeet Sarkaria, Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah, Halton Police Chief Stephen Tanner, Halton Police Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie, members from both Peel Police and Halton Police, Brampton Fire Dept., Peel EMS, Honorable Lisa Raitt, Members from both Brampton and Milton Council, Maple Leaf Alumni Ric Natress and Peter Ing.
