Free Family Friendly Event

TIGERFEST, a charity wrestling exhibition and free Top 40 concert, will take place in Chinguacousy Park on Saturday, September 24th, a date chosen to coincide with Brampton Day in order to capitalize on the crowds it traditionally attracts. Scotia Bank and Century 21 New Star Realty will be the presenting sponsors for this exciting family event.

The last week of May ‘South Asian Heritage Month’ commemorated the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s 1st annual school tour. Philanthropist, humanitarian and wrestling legend Tiger Jeet Singh, and his son, former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh, made visits to Treeline Public School on May 20, 2011 and Sunny View Middle School on May 30, 2011.

To celebrate Asian Heritage Month, these icons spoke to students about their message of “say no to drugs, stay in school, respect your parents and teachers, and stay tiger-fit!” The students at both schools embraced the Tigers with loud roars throughout their presentation.

Accompanying the Tigers was Canadian recording artist Prita Chhabra, who presented screenings of her debut music video “Roots”, celebrating her generation’s duality between their Canadian and South Asian heritages. Quite fitting considering Tiger Ali Singh made an impressive acting cameo in Prita’s video, along with the fact that Prita recently announced she would be donating proceeds from her “Roots” single to the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s Japan relief efforts.
