Canadian recording artist Prita Chhabra helped usher in South Asian Heritage Month this May with the release of her debut music video “Roots” on May 1, following a Canadian premiere of the video on April 27 at Tiger Jeet Singh Public School in Milton (Ontario).
Legendary wrestler Tiger Jeet Singh, along with his son, former WWE superstar Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., joined Prita at Tiger Jeet Singh Public School on April 27 for the video’s Canadian premiere. Quite fitting, considering Tiger Jeet Singh Jr. and his close friend Troy Newton also make impressive acting cameos in Prita’s “Roots” video.
At the presentation, Prita also announced she would be donating a portion of proceeds of her new single “Roots” to the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s Japan relief efforts.
“Since we first met at Parliament last year, the Tigers and Troy have never hesitated to support my music, whether Tiger Jr. appearing in my video or my being invited to perform at Troy’s Toy Drive,” explains Prita. “I’m confident the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s relief efforts towards the youth of Japan will help those who need our assistance the most.”
