Since 2015, TJSF has donated over $100,000 to local schools in support of initiatives such as mental health, inclusive classrooms, breakfast programs, literacy, coding, art workshops and classroom technology.

Tiger Jeet Singh, his son Tiger Ali Singh, Halton Police Inspector Dave Stewart and Sergeant Ryan Smith, along with staff from Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) jointly presented cheques to school principals at a reception and luncheon hosted by TJSF.

Tiger Jr. said his desire to give back to the community is a value his parents instilled in him as a child. “This is all about carrying their traditions and values,” he told a large crowd of people including Mayor Gord Krantz, Regional Councillor Mike Cluett, Halton District School Board chairman Andrea Grebenc, Milton trustees Donna Danielli, Jeanne Gray and Heather Gerrits. He added that students have a special place in his heart. “They leave an imprint on my soul.”

Schools receiving funds are Milton’s Tiger Jeet Singh, Irma Coulson, E.W. Foster, Bruce Trail, Hawthorne Village, Chris Hadfield, Craig Kielburger; Acton’s Robert Little; Burlington’s Orchard Park and Georgetown’s Glenn Williams.

Tiger Jr. said TJSF made record funds during last December 10th annual Miracle on Main Street initiative. Together with the HRPS’s Toys for Tots campaign, TJSF raised nearly $700,00 in toys and cash that were donated back to the community and to organizations such as local Salvation Army chapters, Halton Women’s Place, Allandale Retirement Centre, Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital and Hamilton’s McMaster Children’s Hospital.

HLF helps support quality education for Halton District School Board students by providing emergency help and subsides for students in need, post-secondary scholarships, and funds to assist schools that have classroom needs beyond core education funding.
