Milton, ON – In 2019, the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) combined forces with Halton Police and Peel Police with the goal of assisting more families and children during the holiday season than ever before. As a result of this joint effort and with the support of Presenting Sponsors Deloitte, Accenture and Transportation Sponsor Gallinger Ford Lincoln, close to $800,000 in donations and sponsorships was raised and donated back to the community. In addition, $30,000 was donated to various elementary schools in support of mental health, literacy, inclusive classrooms, art workshops, classroom technology and breakfast programs.
The toys collected were donated to families in need of support within Milton, Halton Region, Brampton and Peel Region, as well as, several community organizations including Salvation Army, Halton Women’s Place, Halton Learning Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital, SickKids, Erin Oaks and the Boys and Girls Club of Peel.
Since 2009, millions have been raised through donations and sponsorships and since 2015, $130,000 has been donated to elementary schools.
“I am so humbled for all the support given to TJSF by the schools, police, dignitaries, special guests, organizations, sponsors, communities and volunteers,” said Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., President of Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation.
The Miracle on Main experience spanned over two months, starting off with Tiger Jr. attending several elementary school assemblies promoting the message of inclusivity during the Christmas season, three Miracle on Main charity events in Milton, Brampton and culminating with a third event in the front lobby of McMaster Children’s Hospital, providing the opportunity to bring a little Christmas cheer to children that must remain in the hospital over the holidays.
Dignitaries and special guests that attended the events included Honorable Caroline Mulroney – Ontario Minister of Transportation, Honorable Patrick Brown – Mayor of Brampton, Honorable Gord Krantz – Mayor of Milton, Adam Van Koreverden – Milton MP, Parm Gill – Milton MPP, Stephen Tanner – Chief of Halton Police, Nish Duraiappah – Chief of Peel Police, members from Halton Police, Peel Police, Milton & Brampton Fire Dept., Halton & Peel EMS, Honorable Lisa Raitt – TJSF Ambassador, respective members of Council from Milton & Brampton, Ric Natress & Peter Ing – Maple Leaf Alumni and members of the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
